<p><a name="index-Statements-1936"></a>
Most statements in GIMPLE are assignment statements, represented by
<code>GIMPLE_ASSIGN</code>. No other C expressions can appear at statement level;
a reference to a volatile object is converted into a
<code>GIMPLE_ASSIGN</code>.
